Kevin was extremely professional, knowledgeable, thorough, helpful and patient with questions. Searching for a hidden HVAC system was quite a challenge and I’m not sure if the inspection was done by a less experienced person it would have been found! Report was very detailed, thorough and helpful. Great experience and much appreciated. Highly recommended!

Kevin was great! He was recommended to us by a retired inspector. Kevin is very experienced; he is the President of a professional home inspector conference/organization and an expert in the field. He was very patient and was able to point out problems that other people could not notice. We kept in touch after the purchase and Kevin answered our questions patiently and provided useful resources in multiple occasions. Great customer service!

This past summer, Billy Chapman performed a general home inspection, and Kevin Vargo performing a follow-up inspection. They were excellent and extremely thorough. Both of them were very patient with us, as we were first-time home buyers with many questions. To this day, we have used the home inspection reports to assist our contractors, and many have commented on the thorough nature of the reports. Dean Lambert also deserves special recognition. He always returns our calls and emails quickly, and has excellent recommendations for contractors. It has been a pleasure to work with H&J Freile, and I would highly recommend this company to any potential homebuyers.

As a first time home buyer AND a woman I thoroughly expected our inspection process to be a nightmare. I was preparing myself to understand nothing and to be "mansplained" to. With that being said, I cannot recommend Kevin and H&J Freile enough. It was nothing short than an amazing experience from the moment I called them. Dean was quick and wonderful to schedule with and so pleasant and professional. During the inspection, Kevin was incredibly thorough. He answered every single (probably annoying) question calmly and with such detail. He even explained certain things without us having to ask AND in such a respectful non-condescending manner. The fact that we left the inspection feeling so much more informed and not left in the dark really speaks volumes for this entire team. HIGHLY highly recommend. Thank you Dean, Kevin, and H&J!

I am so happy that I went with H&J Friele!! To paint the picture, my fiancé and I are first time home buyers, and we are in the process of purchasing a home that was built in 1947. We knew with the age of the home there were going to be issues/concerns so wanted to hire an inspector that we felt we could trust and one that would have our best interest.
With this being our first time in the home buying process, I reached out to people I knew who recently bought a home and posted on local Facebook pages/groups asking for recommendations of home inspectors. I had a list of 20, looked at all the google reviews and called every company. Every person I spoke with was pleasant, but just threw quotes and availability at me. When I called H&J, Dean picked up the phone and immediately I was impressed by his professionalism, but also appreciated the time he took to listen to our concerns of being first time home buyers with an older home and he made us feel very comfortable. He took the time to explain the process, what to expect, walked me through pricing, shared an example report and made suggestions that no other person I called did.
We had our inspection on 7/16/2022 with Steve Zimko. The appointment was at 10AM, Steve was there prior to us and greeted us in the driveway. He was very polite, professional, and thorough. Steve did a very detailed home inspection and took the time to explain everything to us and even showed us how to use certain things in the home like the boiler/water heater. He inspected the home from roof to basement and gave us plenty of tips. We had our report within 48 hours, and it was very organized with major concerns summarized at the top and a table of contents to help you easily look through a 60-page report. The report was broken down from structure, exterior, interior, roofing, plumbing, electrical, heating, cooling, insulation, ventilation, water penetration, fireplace and solid fuel. It was detailed, with suggestions and pictures of the concerns. They also suggested a tank sweep guy/termite guy that was prompt and had the report turned around quickly.
We are very happy we went with H&J! They are professionals that really care about their clients and take the time with you. Thank you H&J!!!

Inspector Billy Chapman was prompt and thorough and completed the inspection report the same day. He explained issues in an understandable way and was very respectful of the homeowner’s house amd property. His colleagues were equally as efficient as was the employee that set the appointment. H&J did our home inspection for a home we're purchasing. Dean had scheduled us and deal with our contracts and was really pleasant to speak with. Billy Chapman was our home inspector, who was absolutely wonderful and took his time throughout the house. My father has hired many home inspectors before and he said that he was the best he's seen. Furthermore, Billy had given us tips and tricks to repair some items in the home ourselves. He was able to give us realistic expectations for how much work was involved for every little thing wrong. He was patient with my husband who asked him many questions and he had offered us to contact him with any questions we may have even after the inspection was over. Overall, wonderful A+ experience. We will definitely be keeping them in mind for any home inspection recommendations in the future.

I used H&J Freile for two home inspections over the last few months and Billy performed both of them. He was extremely diligent and took his time evaluating the home and reviewing each finding with me. THE BEST HOME INSPECTORS!! They are so thorough and detail oriented! They will explain everything they are doing and why! They gave me so many recommendations to issues that were arising and walked me through what to do. THEY ARE THE BEST! H & J and our inspector Billy Chapman could not have been better to us. Not only were they patient with us, as first time home buyers, they were extraordinarily kind and went out of their way to put us at ease and explain everything so we could understand it. Cannot recommend them enough! In a business where it feels like everyone is out to scam you somehow, Billy and H & J are the very rare exception.
Billy, especially, needs extra commendation. He literally leaves no stone unturned! Dean in the office is also an absolute pleasure to work with and could not have been kinder or more helpful.

As first-time home buyers, my fiance and I didn't really know what to expect from our home inspection or even know who to trust. The first time I spoke with Dean at H&J Freile, though, I felt comfortable, secure, and valued. He was friendly, knowledgeable, and understanding about the intensity and stress of this big life change.
I felt the very same way when I met our actual inspectors, Kevin and Mike. They were on-time, knew exactly what they were doing, and didn't even seem to mind when I trotted along behind them like a puppy dog with a clipboard. LOL! They answered even my most mundane and ridiculous questions, we joked and laughed, and they were incredibly thorough in their attention to detail. Our report came back overnight (though don't necessarily expect this--it can take up to 48 hours), and when I reviewed and e-mailed Kevin all my questions/points of clarification, he kindly went so far as to spend the time responding to every one of them.
I could not recommend H&J Freile enough. I've heard so many stories about nightmare inspections, and while the individual house is certainly a factor in that, the attitude, skill, and compassion of the members of an inspection team can drastically affect a home buyer's experience and stress level. And after leaving the inspection this past Thursday, I was naturally a little overwhelmed, but overall, I felt great and worry-free! 🙂
